"Let's break up Nicole," Adrian spoke in a raspy voice. They were strolling out in the park after dinner as usual.
"...Why?" Nicole forced the word out of her mouth.
Everything was going perfect for her: the perfect career, the perfect boyfriend and the perfect family.
"I'm sorry Nicole I love you Nicole but I need to migrate to Australia in a few days to further my studies and I might not even be coming back. You know that we cannot do long distance relationships. We both cannot. Please Nicole, find a better man than me. I am sure you can find one. Good bye Nic," A stray tear dropped on his cheek as he turned away from her.
He finally mustered his courage to tell her and he was still furious with his father for ordering him to migrate to Australia. His father owned the 'Coffee Factory' and he wanted Adrian to take over his CEO position.
Nicole, to say she was devastated, was an underestimation. She cried for days, taking leave from her career. She locked herself in her room and only opened the door when she needed to go toilet or to eat. Her mother was very worried for Nicole. She kept persuading Nicole to continue to go to work, to distract herself.
She decided from then on, she would no longer let guys enter her heart easily.
Except Adrian
Her inner voice spoke. She tried to deny it but she knew it was true. She loved him.
She carried on working in the cafe that she owned to make it as successful as it can be.
Present...
The cafe is bustling with people from all walks of life every day. Nicole was satisfied with her 4 years of hard work. She did not find any guy that was suitable for her though. It was probably beacuse her heart still ached for Adrian.
I wish we could go back to old times
She shook her head, knowing that it would not happen since he was already in Australia. Her frown only deepened when she thought of Adrian with other girls.

"... Please enjoy your stay in Singapore. Have a good day." The flight attendant smiled and took a polite bow.
Adrian smiled a little at the flight attendants and the pilots as he walked through the tunnel tha connects the airplane to the changi airport.
He felt there was something missing as he went to collect his luggage after going through the procedures.
Of course I am, who am I kidding? I miss Nicole. Her laughter and her smile.
However, the thought of meeting her again gave him the shivers. His eyebrows furrowed at the thought of Nicole having another boyfriend that was not him. He was worried about what she would think of him too. As all these thoughts ran through his head, he walked out of the changi airport. He could see a body guard and a grey car nearby and knew his father was here to fetch him.
Ha, I did not even think of him when I landed. I really want to give him the worst-father-of-the-year award.
He chuckled silently at his inner voice as he strolled to the car. He entered and greeted his father. His father just nodded without looking at him.
"Adrian, I will now pass the CEO position to you. I allow you to date the girl you wanted to date 3 years ago but do continue the generation of the CEO okay? I have faith in you, Adrian." His father smiled geuninely and placed his hands over his son's hands. Adrian nodded and smiled back.
This was one of the very few moments of both of them bonding.
Remember the "I want to give him the worst-father-of-the-year award", well, I take it all back. He's the best father I could ever asked for.
"Let's talk more at a popular cafe that I know," Adrian's father spoke gently. Adrian nodded quickly.
They entered at the cafe with quick but light footsteps. Adrian froze in his spot.
It's her.
Nicole saw him too and just like Adrian, she stood rooted to the ground.
How can this be? Adrian...
Both of them just stared at each other, taking in each other's well being. It was like only both of them in the cafe and both of them were beyond surprise to even move.
"Adrian, I will catch up with you later," his father spoke with a smile tugging his lips.
He knew... My dad knew that Nicole would be here... Not that I'm complaining but I am actually thankful.
"Hey, Nicole how are you?" Adrian decided to ask the obvious first.
"Great actually, my career is successful," Nicole avoided the 'boyfriend girlfriend' question.
"No, not like that. I knew you would be successful in your career but I am talking about your love life. Do you... like have any boyfriends in these 3 years?" Adrian just spoke right on where Nicole wanted to avoid.
Oh boy, he sure is straightforward...
"... None. I... I... m-miss you okay? Eve since you left, I could not take you out of my mind. I missed all the fun times and... I think I still l-love you Adrian," Nicole admitted.
Adrian was taken aback. She just said she still loved him.
Isn't she the one who is more straightforward?
"hey Nicole, my ear kind of blocked out the last sentence. Would you mind repeating it louder this time?" Adrian spoke in all seriousness.
She took in a deep breath and yelled, "I LOVE YOU ADRIAN!"
The whole cafe became so quiet you could literally hear a pin drop. Both Adrian and herself were surprised to say the least.
People started clapping and congratulating Nicole for finally lik-loving someone. Most of them were all her regular customers and they knew why she never brought up the love topic whenever they talked.
Adrian smiled and said, "Hey, you are not the only one, Nicole. I LOVE YOU TOO NICOLE!"
Every one laughed and gave this couple another applause. Both of them smiled at each other and they knew both of their happy future was coming.
Fate may give them some troubles here and there but I know they will overcome it. Together
